Dear Grade 7 Students,

While our school year is coming to a wrap this week, we would love to have you come to our Google chat for a final good bye to wrap up our year together.

Our Grade 7 Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration will take place on Thursday June 25th at 11:00am.  The grade 7 team will be celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21) with a discussion about land acknowledgements and reconciliation. We will learn what land acknowledgements are, why we do them, and why they are important to move towards reconciliation in Canada.  You are encouraged to bring your questions and curiosities to the discussion.  Please use our regular code to attend:  WP7FlexTime

Volunteers Needed!!!

Dear Willow Park Students,

Each year we seek the assistance of our current students to help welcome new students to Willow Park in September. The beginning of the year will be determined by parameters outlined by Alberta Education and Albert Health Services. We are doing some tentative planning for Willow Park students to volunteer on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Although we do NOT know what things will look like for the fall, we would like to collect the names of possible volunteers, if things proceed as planned for the fall.  If you would like to volunteer to be a part of this day,  please talk to your parents and then fill out the information below.

Students volunteering should be at the school by 8:30am to help with set up. A pizza lunch (gluten free available as well) will be provided for students and volunteers. Our school buses will be running as usual that day.  Your role will include welcoming new students and familiarizing them with our school.

If you are able to join us on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 please email the following information to Mrs.Thomas  at tmthomas@cbe.ab.ca. Please remember to include your name and grade, homeroom, email address along with your parents name and email address. Names of volunteers must be emailed before Friday, June 26th, 2020.

Parents and students will receive an email from Mrs.Thomas to confirm their involvement in this volunteer opportunity.  If you have any questions about the day, please feel free to email Mrs. Thomas or contact the office at 403-777-6900.

Thank you in advance for your help and support!
