Week of June 15 - 19

I hope you had a nice weekend!  Two more weeks to go!!J

Math & Science Google Classroom: 
1.     Please submit/share all of your completed work in Google Classroom.  It allows you to see what is due and what you have turned in.  Here is a video that might help those of you who are having trouble.  

2.     Please continue to ask questions or for help at clingram@cbe.ab.ca

3.     Please DO NOT try to communicate using  clingram@educbe.ca as I will not be checking it.  (We have not used this email all year.)

Below are Week 12's Math & Science ongoing learning tasks.

For All Slide Show Lessons:

1.      Download slide show to your device.
2.      Present/play slide show
3.      Hover over pictures to see “hand” or link OR I've added links to the bottom left hand side of the slide or under the picture that should take you to the video...
4.      Click on hand or link.  It should open up the video
5.      After reading slide show and watching videos, put the slide show in your trash so it doesn’t take up memory or space on your device.



SCIENCE (about 2.5 hrs/wk)


·     Textbook:  Unit 2 Plants for Food and Fibre, Topics 1-3Topics 4-6.

This week's learning tasks (Due:  Friday, June 19)
(Are short, 1 hr and 15 minutes of Science Time to be used in Math this week.)

1.    (About 30 min) Watch the movie, “Unbroken Ground.”

2.    (About 45 min) Read the news article, “What Patagonia Gets Wrong About Sustainable Food.”  Complete the Analysis (Questions) and submit your work in Google Classroom.  (Can just copy and paste questions into a Google.Doc – then answer them, if you don't have a printer)

3.  Back by request:  The Heat & Temperature Challenge (quiz) on Kahoot!  Here is the Game Pin (Remember to sign in with your first name and last initial: 04444510



MATH (about 2.5 hrs/wk)


·     Textbook:  Chapter 7, Adding & Subtracting Fractions.     Check Answers here

This week's learning tasks (Due:  Friday, June 19)
(Are long, extra time (1 hr and 15 min) for Math to be taken from Science this week.)

1.      (About 15 min) Complete the Entrance Slip for Chapter 6 and submit your work on Google Classroom.   Do NOT use a calculator, please show your work/process.

2.      (About 45 min) Download & review L1Common Denominators.  Complete and submit the practice from the last slide in Google Classroom.

3.      (About 45 min) Download & review L2 Adding & Subtract Fractions with Unlike Denominators.  Complete and submit the practice from the last slide in Google Classroom. 

4.      (About 45 min) Download & review L3 Add Mixed Number Fractions.  Complete and submit the practice from the last slide in Google Classroom. 

5.      (About 45 min) Download & review L4 Subtract Mixed Number Fractions.  Complete and submit the practice from the last slide in Google Classroom. 




Flex Time is a fantastic chance for students to drop in to say hi or ask their teachers specific questions throughout the week and to receive answers in a face-to-face format.  This is an optional session designed for students to touch in with their teacher and some of their peers while receiving support for ongoing learning at home.  
Friday Film Festival is also an optional session for students to share and watch the videos that they created for their Time Capsule project in Humanities.
